Halloween 2012

This year was a crazy year for Halloween. But fun! We started off by starting a Halloween fund. Each year, we are going to pick up a few Halloween decorations. It was fun!

We put up our lights (orange and purple), made ghost pumpkins out of milk jugs and stuffed them with lights. Those were on our front porch. Hung up some spider webs, spiders dangling from a huge black web above our door, and some felt pumpkins and haunted houses! Plus glow in the dark ghosts and one skeleton. And I can't forget our grave yard of four head stones, a skull and arms. We put our fake snake in the skull's mouth. Oooo, and I got a couple skulls for inside, on our mantel.

I'm describing this, because I forgot to take pictures. UGH, mommy fail. Oh well.

We went to the pumpkin patch around mid month. Waited a week, and then carved our pumpkins!

At the pumpkin patch. We scored some awesome pumpkins!

Jake's vampire Mickey

Steve's Frankenstein

Teage's sill face (it was suppose to be Mario, but it was too hard, so he got this instead)

Leo's Jolly Roger

Zoe's Hello Kitty

Dexter's, baby girl's, and mine stars and moon

All together now. See, you can see one Ghost Pumpkin and most of our lights. We also installed a black light for our door light. It helped with the glow in the dark stuff!

Sadly, the weather warmed up, and come Halloween night, all of our pumpkins melted into a nasty pumpkin goop. Next year, we'll wait a while longer before carving!

I forgot, we also added our dead corn stocks from our failed garden, and one white pumpkin that Teage wouldn't put back. They are still out there for our one and only Thanksgiving decorations.

As for the big day itself, we didn't have a theme this year. Well, not all the way through. See:

Count Jake aka Vampire

Zoe - Rapunzel (it was a cold night, hence the long johns!)

Leo Captain America

Teage Iron Man

Dexter Dancing Spider
Sara Dead Aggie Fan

A cuter picture from earlier that day of my super cute Dancing Spider!

No picture of Daddy, but he went as himself, aka, super nerdy accountant!

We headed over to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat. But, we parked in the wrong area, so no one came by. Oh well, more candy for us. Bwahahaha! We came home, turned our lights back on, put the bowl of candy on the chair and went around our neighborhood. The kids had a blast! But after an hour, they were ready to come home.

All in all, it was a great holiday! The kids were super cute, and were great about sticking together. I cannot express how awesome and thankful I am that we live in a home, in a great neighborhood! It was so much fun, to just go out our door and go Trick-or-Treating!
