I was a Princess.
For reals, y'all.
And 10 years ago this weekend, I handed over my title and crown.
I might have pulled out all my Miss Sunnyside stuff this morning and went through the THOUSANDS of pictures of us, the scrapbook I made (that still isn't 100% finished) as the official court scrapbook and found my old dress.
I resisted the urge to put on the crown. I do that every Halloween though. The crown and my cheer stuff. My cheer stuff doesn't fit anymore :(
But yeah, 10 years ago, I ended my reign as Miss Sunnyside 3rd Princess.
And deep down, I miss it. It was so much fun! I miss going to the parades. I miss Cindy, our chaperon. I miss the girls. I miss going to other pageants and betting on who was going to win. I miss seeing the little girls eyes get big and bright when they would see us in all our of get up.
I don't miss: the crown head, the early morning calls, the cattiness that happened, and the waving. You try waving in a parade for over an hour. Let's just say my arm was buff.
But most of all, I miss the magic of being a princess and getting to hang out with three really sweet girls and our amazing chaperons. We had a blast that year, and I will always remember it fondly!

You had a magical experience, that is for sure. I think every girl, at some point in her life or another wishes she were a princess. You got to live it a bit. I love that you have those memories.
How awesome is that! My SIL's were both Miss South Jordan and went to Miss Utah. I judged Miss Duschane County one year, it was so much fun
