Camping and the Beach

So, this past weekend, we went camping with our ward to Hudson-Parcher State Park. It was so fun to be with our ward family and friends. We even shared our site with a family that had the same tent as ours!! The kids thought that was awesome!

We ate dinner. Well, we made the kids eat dinner first before we joined the fun and ate smores with the ward. LOL! They were not happy about that. Zoe's friend, Sammy, ate with us too. LOL! Those two girls were inseparable all weekend!

We were bad parents though. We forgot to bring our sweatshirts for ALL of us. Bad Mommy! Bad Daddy! We made do, borrowed a jacket, put pj's under our clothes, and stayed by the fire. We were all good! I wish I would have snapped a picture of Zoe in her pink shorts and green poke-a-dot pj's. Too cute!

That night we heard the cow's mooing all night. And then, at about 2:30 in the morning, we heard a pack of coyotes running by and howling. It was eerie!

Breakfast was done by the ward, really good pancakes and eggs! (We didn't take a single picture while we were camping) Then we tore down and headed for Astoria and the beach with Sammy's family!

We made three stops at Astoria. We stopped at a pier and walked down to see the sea lions! Some were fighting and it was awesome to watch! We told the kids they look like and sound like that when they fight. Minus the whole sea lion look.

Then, we went to find the Goonie house!!!!!!!! I LOVE the Goonies! The owners were super nice and said they get about a couple hundred people a day in the summer time. Crazy! They had a yard sale going on and a little girl (I think granddaughter) selling cookies and pop!

We stopped at Safeway to get some lunch, then headed south for the beach! We went to Sunset beach, so we could drive out onto the beach. It was so much fun to be there with friends! Again, no pictures. I fail at taking pictures. Plus, I have no clue where our camera is right now.

Anyway, the girls played in the ocean. Got to far in. Scared Sammy's mom and I to death. We flew our kites, played in the ocean and ate lunch! It was so nice. And we learned a trick to get the sand off. Baby powder! It's amazing!


So that was our trip this weekend. We have one more camping trip planned. Going to Camp Zion's in Washington and camping with Steve's sister and a few friends. We can't wait! We are going to Apples to Apples in till the late night! Watch out Heather, Steve is gonna cheat again! :D
