Can I just say that I LOVE my midwife!
I LOVE my midwife!!
So, this is my 5th baby.
Yes, you read that right.
And since this is my 5th baby, my midwife has been extending the time in between visits.
When we lived in Utah, I would always see the 13 visits before birth commercial thing.
I'll be lucky to get to 10, if that.
I'm up to 4 so far.
The reasoning...um, I've done this 4 times before.
My pregnancy is going great!
And I know what to look out for when things go wrong and who to call.
That being said, I saw my midwife today.
All is well.
I've gained 14 pounds so far.
Baby is head down.
I'm measuring right on.
My BP is perfect.
I'm just hoping this guy comes early like the rest of them.
39 weeks.
That's only 9 more weeks (well, less now)
I've got so much stuff to get done.
But I should be able to work on it a little each night now that Steve will be home for a while!
And the kids are so excited.
Jake tells me daily that he loves baby Dexter. And that I have to get bigger first.
Zoe says that this is HER baby Dexter and that she loves him. She gives him hugs and kisses just about every day.
Leo is excited. But he is a man of little words. He as recently started, when cuddling up next to me, just put his hand on my belly hoping to feel Dex move.
And Teage pats my belly and says baby. I hope that means he's excited. He's a little young to understand what's going on. But he is great with babies and I'm sure he'll be just like his older siblings and love the baby right off the bat. No jealousy issues or anything.
Now, just figuring out what we are going to do with the kids while I push this little guy out.
That's always the hard part.

I think that's so awesome you are seeing a midwife. So will she deliver you in a hospital or how does that all work? That's awesome you have only had 4 appts so far. I feel like I am at the dr. every week - oh wait - I am!!! I was wondering how you got away from the kids so frequently for Dr. appts, but you don't really have to, that's great. With fewer appts, is the midwife less expensive than a regular Dr. too?
I can see why you would be worried about who's going to watch the kids and all, that's my main stress and I only have 1 kid to pawn off. How have you managed to gain such little weight so far? I mean, I know you gained a lot with Jake, but what has been diff with your other pregnancies? I thought I could better control myself during this pregnancy and gain less, but not so, I think I will end up gaining more actually! I feel really out of control with my eating when I am pregnant. I eat when I am hungry, I eat when I am not, all I do is eat, eat, eat!! :)
I'M excited to see baby Dex - I can't imagine the excitement of the family!
You're clearly a pro at giving birth, you should cash in on that and write a book or something! :D
Finding Someone to watch the others is definitely the hardest part! You are a pro so i'm sure it will all work out :)
