Another Year...

...has gone by. Isn't that weird how fast time goes by? These last few days I've been thinking about this year, and all that has happened to us. It's been quite a year. Here's the break down.

January - Steve started the MAcc. I was REALLY pregnant, and Jake and Zoe were just cute. Nothing really major happened this month, but President Hinckley did die at the end. That was sad, but life and church go on right?

February - Has always been a tough month for Steve and I. That was when we had our first fight (and it was a big one. Lasted the whole month) when we were dating. I start off the month really sick and end up in the hospital for a week. Stupid kidneys! Thank you to all of you that watched our kids for us or said you would before my parents came down. That was a tough week. And we very much appreciated your help. Sorry, I didn't get anything out to you before, we were a little busy recovering from that infection and then Leo was born on the 26th. That was an amazing birth. I'm still proud of myself for going natural, and even though I said I wouldn't do it again, I probably will.

March - We went up to Idaho Falls to see Steve's Grandma Helen. That was a fun trip. Leo was only a few weeks old. It was good to get out of the house and see some family. And it was still winter. Snow everywhere and we were getting cabin fever bad! Steve also went to Denver at the end of this month for BAP regionals. My first time alone with 3 kids. Yikes! But we survived!

April - Still more snow. It was a never ending winter. The kids were use to Leo by now and were so helpful with taking care of him. Jake and Zoe started to get closer as brother and sister and started really playing with each other. That warmed my heart.

May - The end of the first semester as a Grad student for Steve. It was a lot of hard work (he was a Graduate Assistant this semester and had lots of homework to grade, which I helped when I could). Leo was blessed this month. It was great to see Marilu and Harry (Steve's Mom and step-dad) and my parents. Leo is such a special little dude, and we were happy to share that with everyone. I also threw Steve a surprise birthday party for he's 28th. We were still under the impression that we wouldn't be here by now, so I thought it would be nice to have tons of friend over to celebrate him. It was fun and I'm glad I did. Now, almost everyone has moved away.

June - Finally, so warm weather! The kids and I started going outside to play some. Steve started his second semester as a Grad student. The 8 week session. Lots of homework for him. Leo stopped growing right about now. I dried up and couldn't breast feed him anymore. We figured that out a little late, and he stopped growing. We put him on formula and introduced solids and everything was fine! We also celebrated our 5th year of marriage on the 13th. It was great. I love Steve so much! He's just wonderful at everything!!

July - My favorite holiday is the 4th of July! We spent it here, with some friends of ours. It was fun to see the kids reactions to fireworks. And Zoe turned 2! I can't believe she's that old already. When we first moved into this apartment, she was only 5 months old. Again, we just spent it at home. Thanks Rachel for making her her cake! By now my Twilight obsession was in full swing and was totally stoked for Breaking Dawn to come out!

August - The end of summer session and a 4.0 for Steve!! Woohoo! Only one more semester to go! Steve went to Anaheim for BAP Nationals. He was on Larry King b/c that's when JetBlue started charging for baggage and they flew JetBlue. It was cool to see him on TV, even if it was in the background. I turned 25. Yikes, I feel old now! And Leo is 6 months old. He's working on sitting up and is a master of solids now! And Jake is officially potty trained!!!!!

September - School starts for the last time for Steve. And recruiting season is in full swing. We went to a lot of events and got all the paperwork filled out for interviews. We also got our first rejection (for a company that we never wanted to work for anyways). Leo is sitting up and Jake and Zoe are fighting more. And we finally got an answer to where we're suppose to be. Portland, OR. Here we come baby!

October - Was a slow month. Summer didn't want to end, but it did and by the end of the month we had had 80 highs, leaves turn color and snow. Steve is working on finding more local firms in Portland to work for, and by now we had been rejected by all firms but E&Y and Moss Adams. Halloween was spent at my parents house. Steve had interviews in Bellingham for Moss Adams and me, not wanting to be here alone again, went to my parents. The kids had a blast up there. And they sure were cute as a Knight (Jake), the Itsy Bitsy Spider (Zoe) and a Bat (Leo). Leo also started crawling this month. Commando, but at least it's some sort of crawling.

November - Steve had is second interview with E&Y, and by the end of that week, we had two offers. One from E&Y and Moss Adams. In the end, we went to E&Y in Portland. It was such a great feeling to be wanted and to have all of our hard work pay off. The only question was, when will we start (not until August or September) and when will we move. First, we thought we would move right after graduation, but the Lord had a surprise for us. I got pregnant. So, after lots of prayer and scripture reading, we thought it best to stay here. The day I found out I was pregnant, my sweet grandmother, Hope, died. I got to fly out with my parents and brother and spend a week in Eldred, Pennsylvanian with family. It was a nice funeral and great to see my family again. We miss you Grandma! Then I get home just in time for Jake's 4th (can you believe it) birthday. What a big boy he is now. I still sometimes see the little baby boy I had. He was and always been a big boy. I love him so much! What an awesome and wonderful big brother and little man he is! Thanksgiving, well, we stayed home. In two weeks was graduation and we just didn't have the money to go down to Aunt Carol's.  But Thanksgiving dinner was great! Leo started pulling himself up on things. Thanks to the influence of his 2nd cousin we met (my Great-Niece) he's going to be walking soon! And he can also, finally, get himself up into a sitting position. That just makes playtime that much more fun and easier on Mom.

December - Wow! We're done. Done with school forever (well until I go back to school). Steve graduated with his MAcc and an offer to work for the Best Company to Launch Your Career (Business Week). Steve's Mom flew in and my parents came down. It was great to be with them. The day after graduation the snow came. And it hasn't stopped. Also with graduation came the loss of a job. Not fun, but we are surviving. We've enjoyed our time being together has a family, and hopefully soon, we'll have jobs again and money too! Christmas (what was it, two days ago? LOL) we stayed at home. Christmas Eve we spent with the Bishop's Family. We're grateful that they opened their doors for us. Even though all of our ward was invited, whoever was staying here anyways. We had a ton of fun and the kids sooooo didn't want to go home. Christmas morning was long. We had a lot of gifts from our family and friends. The kids got burned out opening presents and didn't want to open anymore before they were done. Dinner was so good. Steve is an amazing cook! Good thing too, because this pregnancy has been a rough one now. Morning sickness is terrible and nothing is seeming to work. I have it bad in the morning and at night. Pretty much all day long I feel like crap. Oh, the joys of pregnancy!

So that has been our year. It's been a busy one. And a very blessed one. We are so thankful for all of our blessing. We've had a lot and couldn't be more grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for us and will tell us that plan when we ask (a lot!). We're grateful to have wonderful kids. Leo has been such a blessing in our lives. He is an easy baby and loves his brother and sister so much. And they too, love him so much. Jake and Zoe never stop to amaze me. They are both growing up so fast. I never thought I would say this, because I always look forward to their new milestones in life, but I miss baby Jake and baby Zoe. Soon, Leo will be 1, Zoe will be 3 and just under a year, Jake will be 5. And we'll have a 4th child in our home. Kids are the best thing in life. Even though there are days I wish I could just go back to bed and not deal with them, they are truly amazing and wonderful!

As for Steve. Who could ask for a better husband? He is just, well, my everything. He is a wonderful Daddy. He never complains when I just can't take it anymore and will take the kids off my hands. He is a wonderful husband. He takes such good care of me. He understands what pregnancy does to me, and makes sure that I'm ok all the time. And understands when I have to take a 3 hour nap and be in bed by 11 (that's early for us). He doesn't mind doing the chores. Being pregnant, well I can't really do the dishes without throwing up (no matter what stage of pregnancy I'm in). And he doesn't mind cleaning. He has pretty much done just about everything this year, and I'm so thankful for that. It's been a long one for me, and something tells me that it's not going to get any better any time soon. Oh well, at least I have Steve!

So, again, we are just so blessed and amazed at all that has happened this year. From one birth, to another one coming, to Steve graduating and all of our ups and downs, it's been a great 2008. We look forward to 2009. We'll be here until July 31st (that's when Housing said we had to be out by). The baby is due July 25th, so it's going to be close. We can not wait to move to Portland and start the job there. It's a new section of our life that we are so excited for. It's a little scary to think that this time next year, I'll be a mother of 4 at age 26, my husband will be starting his first year as a CPA, we'll be in a new city with new friends and a house that doesn't have cinder brink walls! So much is going to happen next year, that we can't wait for.

So, we hope that everyone has a blesses and wonderful 2009. May all your goals and wishes come true (ours did for 2008!). We will miss all of our Utah friends. We knew we would be here a while, but didn't think we would make the friendship that we have. Without you guys, life would suck just that much more. We can't wait to see what happens in your life and ours in 2009. Happy New Year!!
