Goodbye September, Hello October

Wow, can you believe that today is the last day of September 2008? Where does the time go? It feels like just yesterday it was January, I was hugely pregnant and my kids were still just little and cute. Now, my baby is 7 months old and the kids are big and still cute! September has been good. All but my computer crashing and I lost EVERYTHING. Not fun. That's why I haven't posted any pictures for a long time. I lost them all, then we lost our camera (in the house mind you) and we really don't have anything new right now. We started and ended our September with a visit from my parents. Jake just loves it when Boppie and Grammy come to visit. And Zoe just loves her Boppie. And Leo, well, he's all about Grammy. Speaking of Leo, he now has 4 teeth and is cutting at least one more. But don't feel sorry for me. Oh no. Leo is the happiest little boy EVER! Every once in a while, he'll have a bad day (usually when he starts cutting a new tooth) all we have to do is give him some Tylenol and teeth tablets, and he's good. Leo can sit up now. Probably for about a couple minutes before he tips over. Then he's commando crawling. He's gotten up on his hands and knees a couple of times, but nothing happens. And he has this pose he does while on his tummy. He rolls over to his side, has one hand hold up his head and then bends one knee. Yup, he's got a (in the words of my mother, gee thanks mom) playboy pose. It's really cute though. I'll have to get a picture of it one of these days (we found our camera). Jake, well, he pooped just that once on the potty. Now it's back to doing it in his underwear. I've just given up. I'm hoping he'll get the hang of it. Until then, he's grounded. As he says, "NO x-box, no playstation, no computer, no mommy and daddy's room (we have PS2 and Gamecube in there that we sometimes let him use)." He also can't do any playgroups. So sorry Gordon for missing your birthday party. Jake was grounded because he pooped his pants almost every single from the time you invited him. We kept telling him if he wanted to go to Gordon's birthday party, he needed to poop on the potty. He would say, "OK. Poopy on the potty." Then would poop in his pants. UGH, boys! Other than that, Jake is doing great! He's talking more and more every day. He's making a lot of sense these days, and is saying just about everything I say. Oops, I need to watch my mouth now. Especially while driving. Stupid, Utah drivers! Zoe, well, I love that little girl so much. She too, is talking like crazy. She's repeating almost everything Jake says. And is learning new words all the time. She keeps asking to go on the potty, we put her on it and nothing happens. So soon, she'll be potty trained. I think. Everyone at church keeps telling us how she'll chase down a kid, or back them up into a corner and give them a hug or a kiss. How can you stop that? It's just too sweet. By the way, Zoe gives the best hugs ever! If you haven't gotten a hug from her lately, just ask for one, and she'll be more than willing to give you the best hug ever! Ok, I lied. I forgot that I have taken pictures with my phone and the upload to iPhoto whenever I sync my phone. So, these are the only pictures I have of the kids on my computer. The one of Zoe in underwear, well it's over her diaper and they are Jake's. She really wanted to wear them. As for the parents, well you know what's been going on with Steve. His interview with PwC yesterday, went really well. He feels like he did better in this one than he did with E&Y. But, he doesn't have the relationship with this interviewer that he did with the one from E&Y. So, he didn't get the feed back that he did in E&Y. But he feels really good about it. PwC said we would find out by the end of the week if he'll get a second interview. And E&Y said about a week, so by the end of this week we should find out what's happening with them. Then later in the day yesterday, Steve got a call from Grant Thornton in SLC to schedule a phone interview. You see, Grant Thornton is mad at USU for some reason and is not recruiting at USU. But they have an office in Portland and Steve likes them. So he contacted the office in Portland, and they said send us and SLC your resume. So he did, and the Portland office contacted SLC and asked them to do a first round interview with Steve. So now, hopefully this week sometime, he'll get a phone interview with Grant Thornton. And as for me, well I'm not sick anymore!!! No more coughing, now more colds. I'm so happy. I finally went to church after three weeks of not going. I just didn't feel like coughing up a lung there or infecting anyone with what I had. Even though, I was pretty sure that it wasn't contagious. I've been trying to find a place in Portland to live that's cheap. We did a budget based on base pay there, and with our student loans and credit card debt, well, it doesn't look good. And I'm having a hard time finding anything online that's under $750 there. If anyone knows of a good place to live in Portland that's under $750, please or please, let me know. We're going to have to move sight unseen, so I'm trusting you (whoever you might be) to help us out. But then we got asked if we had a back up plan the other day, and we don't. We have no idea what we would do if Steve can't get a job or can't start working until next September or something. We've both felt for the Spirit that there is a job for him for January. So I don't know if it would be bad, like not trusting the Lord's plan for us, if we make a backup plan. Does that make sense? Anyways, other than that, I've started reading the Twilight Saga, again. For like the 5th time. I'm such a dork. I know. I can't force myself to read something else. I'm addicted to Edward. And I really wish I had a maid. With three kids, a husband that's gone a lot, and my laziness (yes, I admit I'm a lazy) my house is falling apart. I'm so behind on laundry that Steve is running out of clothes to wear to school. My kitchen, well, let's just say that my visiting teaching companion came over and had to finish writing a card we were going to deliver. She went into my kitchen actually gawked. I've never, in all my life seen someone gawk at someone else's mess. But, she is just 19 and only been married a few weeks. I don't think she has time to understand the pressure of keeping a clean home with three kids, just having parents visit, and my laziness. Anyways, I feel really embarrassed right now. At least my living room is clean! And my bathroom and the kids room, for the most part. So yeah, that's our September. Messes, hopes, interviews, visits, addictions, and laziness. Plus lots of hugs and kisses!
