Hooked

So I've been hearing that this new series is the best ever. Some might even say, better than Harry Potter. Now, I'm the biggest Harry Potter fan out there. I have the American, UK Children's and the UK Adult editions. I'm obsessed, what can I say? So, after having my mother-in-law tell me more about this new book series, and now that Steve is out of school (well, he started summer school today) I thought that I would pick up the books and see how I like them. Last week, I think last Tuesday, we went to the Bookstore on campus and got Twilight. I finished it in less than 12 hours. That's a record for me. I begged him to get the other two books ASAP. And he did (and early anniversary gift, if you will). I read New Moon and Eclipse in two days time (that's a book a day). Although, I should have waited to get the Deluxe Edition of Eclipse so I could have the first Chapter of Breaking Dawn. Anywho, needless to say, these books are wonderful! I like them so much, that I reread them again this weekend. I just finished the third book today. I know, I'm totally obsessed and weird. But, I really can't compare them to HP, but they are just as good. Maybe even better. There aren't any dead gorgeous (no pun intended) vampires in HP. I want my own sexy vampire now. I'm trying to get Steve to read them, just so he knows how Edward acts, and make him be like that to me. Is that wrong? I love my hubby so much, and he does tend to kiss my neck a lot, but it's just not the same. I find that after reading these books, I'm having a hard time looking at men in the same way. Is that really bad? It probably is. So, now my obsession has shifted from HP (I'm still looking forward to the Half-Blood Prince movie this Thanksgiving) to Breaking Dawn that's coming out August 2 (an early Birthday present I hope!) and then the movie in December. Because as an obsessed HP fan, I would be totally jazzed that the guy that plays Cedeic Diggory in Goblet of Fire is Edward Cullen (heart beat speeding up and I'm getting a little excited. He's totally hot. Hey, don't judge me. I'm married not dead so that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the beauty God put on this Earth!) And I love that Linkin Park is the CD that Phil likes and that's the CD Bella listens too in Twilight! (And if you didn't know that, then go here) I love Linkin Park! Anyways, if you haven't read these books yet, you have too! And if you have, please indulge me in this obsession and talk to me about them! Steve is getting a little tired of Edward this, and Jacob that, and oh Forks this, and who would go to Hoqiuam to go shopping? There is nothing in Hoqiuam! Oh, and the chick that plays Esme is Ava/Rebecca in Grey's Anatomy! Oh, and my cousins' name is Mike Newton. And he lives in small town in Easter Washington!!

Coming out August 2nd! I can't wait. I hate how the Epilogue in Eclipse makes me feel all sad and depressed. Anywho, August 2-3 I'm totally not going to be a mom, but just a teenaged girl with her nose in a book!

I have to admit, I wasn't sure I would really like the books when Carmel first lent them to me. Thank heavens she had all three and was generous enough to lend me all of them at once! I've been trying to get through a really intensely thought provoking series called the Crown of Stars, so switching to something that wasn't so intensely thoughtful but intensely emotional enough to balance the whole switch really helped! The thing that really makes me love the series, though, is actually the new take on the fantastic races and the way they inter-relate...or typically fail to, I should say. It has been so incredibly wonderful to find someone willing to explore the world of vampires and werewolves (typical dark fantasy folk, for those who are interested), but keep it so wonderfully clean at the same time!
