Zions Camp 2011

For Labor Day weekend, we went up to Zions Camp in Belfair, WA. It's on Coon Lake. (that would be name because of all the raccoons there) We went up there with Steve's sister and her three kids. Her friend's and their three kids plus a friend for their daughter to hang out with. They invited their friends, who have a pre-teen and she brought her friend. Then, most days, friends from their church could come in and out and play or stay for dinner.

All of the chairs of the four families.

It was so much fun! We did this last year and had a blast. So, we now have decided it's a tradition! Labor Day weekend camping get away!

The one thing I love about Zions Camp are the longhouses we stay in! It's two long log cabins sharing an open common area and the forth wall is missing (where the door would be). It's great fun! This year we brought our air mattress to sleep on the floor. The bunk beds inside are really hard to sleep on.

The kids had so much fun playing together! And they got sooooo dirty. It was amazing how dirty they could get.

Teage, second day of camping. He was a pro at getting dirty!

Third day of camping. He had a shower that morning.

Really, Jake, you're 6 years old, do you have to get that dirty?

Poor Leo, his diapers were giving him problems, but playing without pants on just made it worse. So dirty.

Zoe was really the queen of dirt. She had dust, rocks, moss, wood and who knows what else in her hair!

We loved going to the "park" and playing. There is a play ground, an open field, tire swings, ropes course in the woods. So much to do! We spent Sunday afternoon in the park having a picnic with everyone and playing games. Although, I'm sure we didn't score any points in heaven. We play Smart Ass on Sunday and said the word ass a lot. Oops.

So, since we are on the lake, the others spent the late afternoons on the lake. We didn't bring any swimsuits with us. It's just too hard right now to even think about playing in the water. So we would stay, let the kids play in the volleyball sand area while we got the fire ready to cook on. I'm a bit of a pyro, so that was the fun part for me! The lake is also stocked with trout, so on Sunday, they went fishing and caught some fish! We got to bring home the left overs. So yummy!

Our kids plus a cousin playing while the others were at the lake.

So, funny thing, while Steve and a new friend were playing Frisbee golf in the woods, he ran into a friend of ours from Bellingham! Jamie is the sweetest person ever, and I'm so happy I got a chance to talk to her later that day! Even if it was for 5 minutes. :D

How did the baby do? Well, this was his 4th camping trip in 2 months! He is such a good baby! And it helped that we had Aunt and Uncle (he didn't stay at nights, but would come during the day) and friends to hold him if we were busy with the other kids. I'm excited for next year, having a 1 year old camping is tons of fun! Really, it is! We might even do water stuff next year!

We really did have a lot of fun. After the kids would go to bed, the adults (plus two babies) would stay up and play games. It's such a blast! We are already planning for next year! And a sibling reunion (no parents) for the summer next year. And there might be bets going around if I'm pregnant or not next year. lol!

I would love to stay in a log house like that - very cool. What a fun trip - I haven't taken my kids camping yet at all but they REALLY want to go!

That looks like so much fun! It's like your own personal summer camp! All the good things about a sleep away camp with the advantage of forgetting to pick and choose who you're camping with. ;)

That first picture of Teage is so adorable, hell I think they're all adorable dirt and all!

And I love the picture of all the chairs, the little ones crack me up!
