This past weekend we went to Cape Lookout for a weekend of camping.
We had a blast!
We even met some fellow Mormons, from Utah, their eldest going to Utah State in the fall, and knew my brother and sister-in-law from 20 years ago when they lived in Everette, WA.
How small a world is it???????????
CRAZY!
So glad that we made friends on this trip (we exchanged all the of our info), and the kids had a blast!
We want to make Cape Lookout an annual trip (we would love to go back this summer, but it looks like it's all full for the rest of this summer) and would LOVE to bring some family with us!
Any takers??????
So, again, a ton of pictures. I tried to keep them in order, but that didn't work out. Enjoy!
Goonies anyone? Cannon Beach is about 30 miles away...they look so much closer!

Coming back to Mommy

Gonna get the water
Playing around
Falling in LOVE with this beach!
The kids got SOOO sandy this first night.
But had a blast!
Not to worry, Teage is afraid of the water
Leo on the other hand
Such beautiful sand!
Cheese!
This is the only picture of Dexter camping. We fail at taking pictures.
Rocks
Don't you just want to eat him? I do!
The pit the kids played in for about an hour.
We wanted to stay for sunset, but it was getting cold and the kids were starting to turn on us.
The kids dug a pit.
Oh and the tent is from KidCo. I bought it from cottonbabies.com (someone asked and I can't reply to their comment. Please enable your email so I can answer questions like this! Thanks!)
And had a great time playing with Daddy!
Low tide
IKEA has GREAT beach toys for cheap!
Jake lost his legs to the sand pit
Teage fell asleep in his Daddy's arms, then got laid down on the chair. I guess we wore him out!
Not far from us, was a tidal pool! That was so cool! Some jerky kid and his parents pulled out a star fish and was showing everyone. SO MEAN! But it was cool to see. We walked around the tidal pool until the tide came in.
On our way home, another shot of the Goonie Rocks. I don't know what they are called, but they are awesome!
We really did have a ton of fun camping at Cape Lookout. And I can not believe that we met people (and they only come up here every other year) that knew my brother from long long ago. It's so crazy how things work out!

What great pictures! It looks like you guys had such a great time. It amazes me that you camped out with your whole group, including little Dexter! I couldn't imagine camping with such a wee baby!
Oh my goodness, you are so brave! I want to take my kids camping but don't dare. I guess I just need to suck it up. After all the fun I see you had, I have no excuse!
