Thank you so much for hanging around while I worked on getting this baby out! He sure was worth the break. And now I get to blog while holding a sweet little boy on my chest! (please excuse the typos...it's kinda hard to type one handed.)
Yesterday was Jake's last day of Kindergarten. Yay?!?!?! He came home with a bunch for
Yesterday, was also our 8th Anniversary! We said good bye to Steve's mom after Jake got home from school. We're super lazy in the afternoon. I got a nap! Then we went out to eat, thanks to my parents (who were able to come up this past weekend to meet Dexter!!). They gave a gift card to a restaurant they tried while here, so we used it last night for our Anniversary! I was a little sad we couldn't get a real date, but it was nice to go out as a family. And to see the reaction to the hostess as she tried to figure out how and where to seat two adults, 5 kids, one with a high chair and one with a sling.
All in all, it was good night. We went to the mall to walk around and let the kids play in the play area after dinner. Wish we could have stayed longer, but Zoe peed her pants a little bit. Not her fault. All the stalls were full. But I didn't think we should let her keep playing with a wet spot. We got home and sent the kids to bed. (they were supper cranky) and then watched The Tourist (ahh, Johnny) and had our "date" after the kids went to bed. And Dexter slept through most of the movie and half the night, so that was good. By the time we went to bed, Dex woke up and had a hard time going back to sleep. I stayed up with him most of the night.
I'm a very lucky gal to have married such a wonderful man. Steve is wonderful! A great husband, father and best friend! We get along so well together. We are probably the only married couple that actually would rather spend all our time together than apart. These next two weeks are going to be great, but it's going to suck when he has to go back to work.
In 8 years, we have lived in 3 states, 7 different apartments, 3 cars, lots of jobs, two college degrees, and added to our family 5 times. And through all the ups and downs, I still rather spend all my time with Steve then with anyone else. Ok, my kids too.
Thanks, Steve, for a wonderful 8 years and the 5 kids you have blessed me with. I can't wait to see what else lies ahead of us!
