Flying

So, you know how I said that I wasn't going to let my house get all dirty during busy season?

Well, I've been doing it!

Last week I cleaned my house from top to bottom (what you could see and what I usually clean). It's awesome.
Then, I started Flying....
That's right. I've been doing FlyLady this whole week.
I got all the stuff I needed for a control journal and listed all of my cleaning routines and what I wanted to do each day and for the week. I know she says to build on it, and to take baby steps. But honestly, I've been a Flybaby for a long time (about 2.5 years) and I can never really get past the fact that my house isn't clean in the first week. So, I cleaned first, then went back and decluttered, hit hotspots, following her and Kelly's daily emails and missions, and my house is slowly but surely getting into a thing of beauty!

And then on Tuesday our RS had a meeting on organization and meal plans. I've been doing a meal plan for the last three weeks, but was running out of ideas for dinners. So this activity was wonderful and I got a lot of great ideas! Plus, I have all kinds of ideas on how to organize our crap. We have a lot of crap. You see, every time we move, people don't believe that we need the BIGGEST truck there is to move. We fill it full all the time, and end up giving stuff away because it won't fit. We should get rid of some stuff! LOL!

So, yeah. This evening as I was cooking dinner, Steve calls (he got off at 5 today!!!) and says he's on his way home and that a co-worker wants to come over and play games and watch The Mentalist with us tonight. He basically invited himself over (to be fair, we've been meaning to have game night with him and his family for awhile, but his family is out of town for busy season, so it's just him) on a whim. And you know what? I didn't have to panic and scramble to get the house it order. Or rush to take a shower!

It's been so nice to see all my hard work last week, still be lasting into this week! And to be getting rid of stuff I keep meaning to get rid of. And it's awesome to be able to say, sure come on over! I can't wait to get all of our stuff all organized and our house just amazing! If only I had a million dollars to buy all the tubs and totes to put our stuff into!

*If you need help cleaning, totally check out FlyLady. I've found that I can change up her routines to fit my life (I have four little kids and she doesn't!) and our needs. It's totally adoptable for everyone!*

*I was also not paid or endorsed or asked to make this post. Just wanting to share my success with my new system!*
