Alright folks, another week. This was a stressful week for me. And I think that's why my weight loss wasn't great. Steve has started his 5 week engagement in Seattle (down one week, 4 to go!). So between adjusting to be a 24/7 single parent, cleaning the house (my parents are coming on Sunday and staying for a week, and our house looked like a bomb went off), appointments, money worries, I've carried a lot of stress. I tried to let it go, and I did when I was working out, but I found myself not really giving it my all. UGH. Oh well. At least I did lose something!
I had a friend ask how was I doing this. Well, I'm tracking what and how much I eat. Really, portion control and cutting out as much processed sugar as I can. I found an awesome app for my iPhone that helps me track my calorie intake and burn. Then I try to burn about 500 calories at each workout. I've also stopped drinking pop and juices and went straight to water (GASP, I never drink water, so this is major!). And then, my good friend Andrea was designed my workouts for me. She is a personal fitness trainer, and owns her own business. She can be found at Flashpoint Fitness. You can contact her if you have any questions. Just tell her that SaraLee sent you! (that's her nickname for me). Annie has been great and really understanding with me. Super encouraging (well, if you call being threaten with kidney punches because one was craving brownies and posted it on Facebook, encouraging, then well, there you go) and seems to know just how to push you just right.
So that's my secret. No major changes. None of those super extreme diets like no carbs, no sugar (for breakfast I usually have a bowl of granola, warmed milk, add a teaspoon of brown sugar and raisins) no meats. I just eat smaller portions, don't go back of seconds, bread choice is 100% Wheat, eating more fruits and veggies with each meal and no soda. I once heard you can lose weight on any diet, as long as you use portion control and exercise. Being poor makes it easier to cut out all the bad food too! LOL!!
So this weeks stats. A pound lost is a pound not on me! It's ok though. Next week I'm starting a new workout routine. Annie is having me add weights and pushing me more.. I know I'll do great and lose just as much or more! Cheers!

Wow, that's awesome, sounds pretty easy. Sweets (if I make them) are my weakness, I will eat the whole pan of brownies that I make and leave Brenann asking the next day, "where did all the cookies/brownies go?" ooops! SaraLee (he he) I can't believe you are cutting out soda and drinking water, I never thought it could be so. I know you hate water. Wow, girl that's great. I was thinking you must have cut out the soda in order to be losing so much. Soda has tons of sugar and sodium in it! I think someone once told me cutting out soda alone is a weight loss tool in and of itself. Well, great job on another good week. Hey a pound a week is great. You had such a great first week, but I bet a lot of the weight was water weight, so don't ever beat yourself up about one pound a week, plus you have a lot of other pressures on you right now. Slow and steady wins the race . . .
